The report presents case studies from three municipalities with leading sustainability programs, Palo Alto, California; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Las Vegas, Nevada. "We take pride in our reputation as a green leader, which includes our work to increase resource efficiency, to identify related cost-saving opportunities, and to thereby reduce greenhouse gas emissions," said Debra van Duynhoven, assistant to the City Manager for Sustainability for the City of Palo Alto. "With a goal to reduce our municipal operations emissions by 20 percent from 2005 levels by 2012, we believe prioritizing and tracking our resource and sustainability management initiatives is key to achieving our Climate Protection Plan goals, and we've found the Hara solution to be strategic to this process."
